Todd Blanchfield will play in his third annual Pink Game on Thursday night when Perth Wildcats take on Adelaide 36ers at RAC Arena.
“I’ve been a part of a few of them now and it’s a really special night,” he said.
“To see the Red Army turn pink, it’s a pretty special environment.
“To have Breast Cancer Care WA come in and listen to some stories and hear them speak last week was really special and we always find that extra gear to get up and about for it.”
Blanchfield said the team are in good spirits following two consecutive wins.
“The feel amongst the group is great and any chance you get to win basketball games, it’s always better than losing,” he said.
“But at the same time, every season has ups and downs and it’s never going to be all peaches and cream.
“We obviously dropped a few, a few more than what we would have liked to but ultimately, even going through the rough patch, the group was in a pretty good state, we’ve got a talented group and we knew it was going to turn around eventually.”
With Adelaide’s new-look roster, Blanchfield said the team will still be going into the game with confidence.
“We always go into every game confident, you’ve got to try and come in on the front foot,” he said.
“Adelaide is a different look group now, they lost Randall in the FIBA break, one of the leading scorers in the league, so their offence is a little different now.
“For the most part, we’ve just got to come out and continue to defend as five, that’s been something that’s really set the tone for us the last couple of weeks and has really sparked our offence.”
