Context
It will be the battle of the milestone men when Perth Wildcats take on Adelaide 36ers on Friday night at Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Wildcats vice-captain Mitch Norton will play his 300th NBL game, while Adelaide’s Daniel Johnson will be suiting up for his 400th NBL game. Wildcats come into this game on the back of an impressive win over the Breakers in NZ on Saturday, with Corey Webster starring against his former side, finishing with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The lads in red will be looking to continue their winning ways, while Adelaide will want to bounce back from their loss to Sydney on Sunday.
Pre-game words
John Rillie on the match-up with Adelaide 36ers.
“Adelaide are an up-tempo, energetic, very athletic team who like to be disruptive, and they prey on your mistakes,” he said.
“We were atrocious at RAC against them last time, so we should be motivated just to go in to perform better because we were not good as a team, and we were not good as individuals.
“Adelaide is going to play the way they do, Mitch McCarron, Robert Franks, Antonius Cleveland, Anthony Drmic, they’re not changing as players, but we can step up to the challenge and be responsible for slowing these guys down.”
