End of road trip on horizon for Wildcats

After departing WA almost two months ago, the end of the Perth Wildcats marathon road trip is officially in sight, with the release of the next phase of the NBL schedule.
The Wildcats will play four games over Rounds 14 and 15, completing their quota of 14 away games.
Round 14 will see the Wildcats take on Adelaide, before a Round 15 triple-header against Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand.
After the 14 March clash with the Breakers in Tasmania, the Wildcats will return home to a nine-game home stand to complete the 2021/22 regular season.
To make this happen under WA’s current border restrictions, opposition teams will enter the state under a “FIFO” model, when they spend approximately 48 hours in Perth in bubble conditions – the same model being used by the AFL, AFLW and A-League.
“We’re incredibly proud and grateful of what our team has been able to do so far this year while facing significant adversity,” said CEO Troy Georgiu.
“We’re so excited to have them come home soon, and thrilled for our fans to once again be able to cheer them on in person. The atmosphere at our next home game is bound to no doubt going to be electric.
“We are also very thankful to the WA Government and WA Police for their ability to ensure our season can continue at home with the allowance of the fly-in fly-out model”.
The Wildcats have won four of their six away games thus far, with the remaining eight scheduled between now and mid-March.
The NBL also revealed that games between 4-14 March will be a part of its anual Indigenous Round, with more information including uniforms to be released in the coming weeks.
