Elijah Pepper’s strong form on the international stage continued in Manila, producing a career-best performance in Australia’s dominant 93–66 victory over the Philippines in FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifier action.
In front of a sold-out crowd at Mall of Asia Arena, the Boomers overcame an early challenge before finding their rhythm and pulling away decisively to remain unbeaten at 4–0 in World Cup qualification play.
Pepper was handed the green light offensively and made the most of it, finishing with a career-high 28 points in the green and gold. His performance capped a highly productive two-game window, where he averaged 25.5 points across wins over Guam and the Philippines.
The Wildcats guard’s ability to score at ease was evident throughout the contest, combining confident perimeter shooting with strong finishes inside as Australia seized control in the second half.
Tanner Krebs added 18 points, Tom Wilson contributed 12 points and seven rebounds, while Mitch Creek returned with 13 points, six boards and a +23 impact in an all-round team display.
For Perth Wildcats head coach John Rillie, the victory marked his second straight win in charge of the Boomers, beginning his tenure with a perfect 2–0 record during the FIBA window.
With confidence high and momentum building, Pepper now turns his attention back to club duties, carrying international form that shapes as a significant boost for Perth heading into Finals basketball.
