Context

The Perth Wildcats will face Adelaide 36ers in the first of their two pre-season games tonight in WA’s south west. Fans will get their first glimpse at a new-look Wildcats roster under the reign of head coach John Rillie, with triple-MVP Bryce Cotton and the squad ready to put on a show for the Eaton locals.  

Pre-game words

After a delayed start to his season last year, Mitch Norton said he is feeling fit and healthy coming into the pre-season comp.

“Body is feeling great, it’s fantastic to have a full fit and healthy squad ready to go and we’re really excited to be here,” he said.

Norton said playing pre-season games in regional areas is a great experience for basketball communities.

“I think it’s very important, it gives everyone in this region something to strive for, I think it’s key and I love being back in small towns, it makes me feel at home.”

Adelaide defeated the Wildcats 82-70 back in April, Vic Law top scored for Perth with 20 points, while Daniel Johnson, Sunday Dech and Dusty Hannahs finished with 23 points each for Adelaide.
