The Wildcats dominated from start to finish to win by 32 points - 105-73 - to go 13-9 for NBL25 and 5-1 during their seven-game away stint with one game remaining against Brisbane on Wednesday before a run of home fixtures.
It was Perth's first win in the Apple Isle in their last five attempts.
“For us to maintain our level of play for as long as we did was probably the best that we’ve done this year,” Rillie said.
“The way the guys came out and applied it from the get-go and then in the second half not to come out complacent and continue that on, that’s a good sign for me to see.
“When you come down into this building and you’re playing against the champions, it is imperative that you start the game like that. They are very clinical in the way you have to go and beat them. I thought our execution was very good.
“Over the last couple of weeks we are playing very unselfish basketball and everyone is involved. Everyone gets rewarded with the great plays. That’s the encouraging thing for me. And at the defensive end we had some good moments as well.”
Four-time NBL MVP Bryce Cotton starred with a game-high 32 points - including 17 in the opening term - to go with nine assists.
The Wildcats’ strong three-quarter time lead saw Cotton rested for the final quarter.
Fellow import Dylan Windler was also among Perth’s best with a double-double, finishing with 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Kristian Doolittle got through his first game in a month after being sidelined with a groin injury in another positive.
