Two-time champion Clint Steindl has informed the Perth Wildcats he will not be returning to the club in 2021/22.
The 32-year-old said it was a difficult decision.
“I’ve absolutely enjoyed my time at the Wildcats and in the Perth community. For the rest of my life I’ll feel proud I’ve been able to play a small part in bringing another two championships to the club,” said Steindl.
“My time here has been a whole lot of fun thanks to my teammates and coaches. Life was made very easy with the help of the front office and the Perth Wildcats board.
“My family and I put a lot of thought into this, and we’ve come to the decision to move on, but we’re super excited about what’s ahead for us.”
Clint Steindl joined the Wildcats midway through the 2017/18 season and he went on to play 128 games for the club.
He won back-to-back NBL championships with Perth in 2019 and 2020.
The perimeter specialist drained 189 three-pointers at 36.6 per cent for the Wildcats, while averaging 7.6 points per game
“Clint is a great teammate and he played an important role in our success during his time at the club,” said coach Trevor Gleeson.
“I wish he, Kayla and Noah the very best in their next chapter.”
The Perth Wildcats would like to thank Clint Steindl for his contribution on the court and in the community in his three and half years at the club.
