SUNDAY'S GAME AGAINST THE NZ BREAKAERS HAS BEEN POSTPONED
The Perth Wildcats will look for an improved defensive performance when they take on the NZ Breakers on Sunday.
After falling in a one-point heartbreaker on Friday, Gleeson will ask for renewed energy levels from his team in their second game in three days.
“Our energy levels weren’t up at the start of the game, and the start of the quarters, when they need to be up,” he said.
“As soon as we got down by 10, we thought we better be tough here now. You can’t win games like that.”
Perth are now 1-1 to start the year after splitting their opening two games – both against South East Melbourne.
New Zealand are still looking for their first win after two games of their own.
“With a short turn around, New Zealand are here already, so we’ll watch film tomorrow and get ready for Sunday.”
The Breakers were bolstered by the return of Corey Webster on Wednesday.
In his return from a hand injury on Wednesday, he dropped 17 points, while his brother Tai has averaged 24.5 across two games.
NZ’s star-studded line-up also features two-time All-NBL First Teamer Lamar Patterson.
Tip-off on Sunday is at 2pm.
