The Perth Wildcats are mourning the tragic passing of 2010 championship player, Galen Young.
The Charlotte Observer reported the sad news early on Sunday morning Perth time.
Young was brought to the NBL in 2007 by then Townsville Crocodiles head coach Trevor Gleeson, where he played for one season.
He joined the Perth Wildcats midway through the 2009/10 season, and went on to be a crucial part of the 2010 championship team, averaging 6.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
He played 48 NBL games in total, 16 for the Wildcats (11-5 record).
The Perth Wildcats thoughts are with Galen’s family and friends.
