The imposing centre crossed from the Taipans to the Wildcats during the off-season after a successful stint in Far North Queensland under Forde, including back-to-back NBL Most Improved Player awards.
Pinder said Forde, a former Wildcats assistant coach, had been pivotal in his basketball journey and was grateful for their time together.
“He means a lot to me,” Pinder told SENWA’s The Run Home with Hase and Marto.
“For my journey, he’s let me be me and that’s I’ve need over these years of playing basketball.
“To have a coach like that who believes in you and to let you play and be free, it’s always going to bring the best out of you so I’m very grateful and thankful for him.”

Pinder expected Forde to have a great scouting report on him in the hope of stopping his strong form.
The 28-year-old is averaging 15 points and seven rebounds in his debut season as a Wildcat and has been a massive contributor during their three-game winning streak.
“That’s what I’ve been thinking about for a little bit,” Pinder said with a chuckle.
“I’m sure he’s got a great scouting report on me so we’ll just see how we go.”
Both the Wildcats (5-5) and Taipans (4-4) have even win-loss records ahead of what’s shaping up to be a crucial clash in the context of the season.
