The Perth Wildcats will retain the services of West Australian centre Majok Majok for the 2022/23 NBL Season.
Majok signed a two-year deal in 2021, with a club option following the first season.
The 29-year-old is coming off his best year in a Wildcats jersey after recovering from an Achilles injury which ruled him out for the entire 2021 season.
The 210cm big man averaged 5.3 points and grabbed 5.2 rebounds per game in 2021/22 and was one of just three Wildcats to play all 28 games.
The Wildcats have also taken the club option to retain Ollie Hayes-Brown’s for the second year of his contract as a development player.
The young big played eight games in his first season, grabbing eight rebounds in his Round One debut.
“We’re really happy to be able to retain quality depth at the centre position with these two guys,” said Perth Wildcats GM of basketball operations, Danny Mills.
“Majok is coming off his best season since 2017, which is especially impressive considering he was returning from a major injury.
“We also really like what we saw from Ollie Hayes-Brown when he had the opportunity. We’re looking forward to helping him develop even more this season.”
Meanwhile, sharp-shooter Jack Purchase will explore free agency after the club opted not to activate the second year of his contract.
Purchase signed a two-year deal in 2021 with a club option following season one.
The Victorian played 10 games in his first year at the Wildcats.
The Perth Wildcats will be retaining the services of Majok Majok and Ollie Hayes-Brown for NBL23! 🤝
