The 10-time NBA All-Star was sitting courtside at RAC Arena as Cotton hit a stunning eight triples among his 26-point haul to lead the Wildcats to a 106-98 victory over the Phoenix.
Anthony described the four-time NBL MVP and six-time Wildcats MVP as "as good as advertised".
“I thought he was as good as advertised,” Anthony said during an exclusive interview with The West Australian’s The Dribble Podcast.
“Obviously, being a student of the game, I know who Bryce is. I watched him play in college and throughout the years.
“But you always hear about those names and the guys who are consistently, constantly doing it on the international level. So his name had always come up. So the fact that we could watch him – he puts on a show. This is what he doing. He’s a four-time MVP. Like, this is what he do.”
Big man Kristian Doolittle also received a shout-out from Anthony, who said he was a major contributor to Cotton's starring role.
“I was watching Doolittle ... and he was just doing so many other little things that was impacting the actual game,” Anthony said.
“While we were all looking at Bryce (Cotton), it was like ‘that kid right there is the one that’s allowing Bryce to go out there and do what he do’.”
The Wildcats turn their attention to fellow powerhouse Sydney Kings this week in the team's first official home game of NBL25 at RAC Arena on Friday night.
The Kings also started their season with a win at HoopsFest, overcoming an improved Adelaide outfit at RAC Arena on Sunday.
The blockbuster clash tips off at 7.30pm.
